Garrett Weldon, PT, DPT

Co-founder, VP Provider Partnerships and Clinical Strategy

Garrett Weldon, PT, DPT is a direct contracting expert and evangelist who develops solutions to complex healthcare delivery problems.  As Vice President, Provider Partnerships and Clinical Strategy for Health2Business (H2B), he builds relationships and programs with hospital systems and doctors across the country that increase access to high-quality care for the benefit of entire communities.

Driven by his innate desire to help others, Garrett obtained his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Utah. Practicing in both private and public settings, Garrett treated musculoskeletal, nervous, and cardiovascular system impairments in his patients.

Through an opportunity to train clinicians across the country, it became apparent that what Garrett experienced in his own practice was occurring on a national scale: providers were ready and able to give care, yet the patients weren’t getting care due to barriers of cost and access.

In 2019, Garrett partnered with self-funding innovator, Doug Hetherington, to co-found H2B to solve how private employers and their employees access and pay for care. As a provider, Garrett plays a critical role in understanding the challenges providers face, especially when it comes to traditional insurers and payers.

While establishing direct contracts with some of the largest flagship health systems in the country, Garrett has defined parameters for contract scalability, identified infrastructure requirements for successful contract administration, and demonstrated what can be accomplished through education and collaboration. By establishing H2B’s independent and agnostic direct contract administrative platform infrastructure, H2B has created an entirely new vendor class known as Direct Contract Administration (DCA).

Outside of work, Garrett enjoys spending time with his family and exploring wilderness areas by scaling mountain faces, trekking, and kayaking.
